Complexity and optimism

I frequently see overly pessimistic views of the world, there are so many examples of how things can go wrong. When trends are bad, we need to work on improvements and maintain an optimistic point of view. There are so many examples of unexpected solutions and improvements appearing in the darkest hour, let's not assume it will not happen again.
