Small things

In the middle of being busy doing important stuff it is very easy to forget about numerous small things that just needs to be done as well. An easy mistake to make is to forget about the things that are trivial to you but can be difficult or impossible for others. As a servant leader it is of key importance make sure that you take care of all the little things that needs to be done to enable all or your colleagues to focus on their work.

In some examples the improvements you are looking to achieve are based on actions so small that you can not measure them as single actions. Worst case the action might appear to have a detrimental effect or a negative value. Such actions should still be repeatedly pursued if there is significant evidence of long term benefits. Small improvements of technical standards or from a more personal perspective exercise are good examples.

Everybody needs help with motivation from time to time, and having a list of how much you have already accomplished can provide that for you. If you on occasion tend to procrastinate it can be very helpful to have a list of fairly easy things to do, things of which you can pick one and complete when you don't have the energy for big and complex thinking.

There are multiple systems to manage daily tasks and to be effective as well as efficient. One of the key aspects of keeping track of these tasks aside from not forgetting them is to have a way to look at the history of how much you get done.
